Shelley Higgins can't remember a time when she
wasn't singing. Early influences include Nina Simone, Bonnie Raitt, and
Etta James. In the San Francisco Bay Area for many years, she appeared and
recorded with gospel, jazz, rockabilly, and a cappella ensembles...in clubs,
festivals, and even cruises.
Her original vocal arrangements have always been a signature. Along the way, she worked in music/film production, and went to a lot of parties with the almost famous. In Carolina since 1995, she also performs with the Magnolia Klezmer Band. Shelley loves the musical stew here, especially cooking with the Bohemians.
